Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how lolstalk (Discord bot: lolstalker) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Service. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
lolstalk is an unofficial Discord bot that displays League of Legends match scoreboards using data from the Riot Games API. It is operated independently and is not endorsed by Riot Games.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide through Discord commands
- Riot ID strings you submit (for example,
GameName#Tag). - Command options such as breakdown toggles.
2.2 Discord identifiers
- Discord user ID of the person who runs track / untrack / related commands.
- Discord channel ID of the channel where a track command is run (used as the autopost destination).
- Guild / interaction context as provided by Discord when you use the bot (for example, to respond in the correct channel).
2.3 Information obtained from Riot Games
When you look up or track a player, we request data from Riot’s APIs as needed to operate the Service. Depending on the command, this may include:
- Account identifiers such as PUUID, canonical Riot ID, and summoner metadata.
- Match list and match details (participants, KDA, items, queue, duration, win/loss, and related stats).
- Match timeline data used for gold graphs and impact features.
- Ranked league entries shown on scoreboards when available.
We may also fetch public game assets (for example champion or item icons) from Riot Data Dragon / Community Dragon-style CDN sources to render scoreboards.
2.4 Information we store
We persistently store only what is needed for tracking and autopost:
- Discord user ID that created the track entry
- Riot ID (display form) and PUUID
- Discord channel ID for autopost
- Last seen match ID (to avoid reposting the same game)
- Created / updated timestamps for that tracked entry
Full match payloads and rendered scoreboard images are generated to answer a request or autopost and are not kept as a long-term match history database. Temporary caches of public art assets may be kept on the server to reduce repeated downloads.
3. How we use information
- To look up and display match scoreboards in Discord.
- To maintain your tracked-player list and autopost new games to the channel you chose.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service (including logs of errors or rate-limit events).
- To comply with Discord, Riot API, and legal requirements.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where applicable, we process information based on:
- Contract / requested service — fulfilling commands you run.
- Legitimate interests — operating a stable bot, preventing abuse, and securing API keys.
- Consent — where required for optional features in your region.
5. Sharing
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Discord — messages, embeds, and files are delivered through Discord.
- Riot Games — lookup requests are sent to Riot’s API using our developer credentials; Riot processes those requests under Riot’s policies.
- Hosting providers — if the bot or this website is hosted by a third party, infrastructure logs may process IP addresses or similar technical data.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Riot API data to build advertising profiles.
6. Retention
- Tracked-player records remain until you untrack them or we delete them (for example, if the Service is shut down or an entry is invalid).
- Operational logs are kept only as long as useful for security and debugging, then deleted or rotated.
- Asset caches may be cleared automatically or on deploy.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate for a small Discord bot, including keeping Riot and Discord tokens in server-side environment configuration (not in the public website), parameterized database access for stored track records, and least-privilege process settings where practical. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
8. Your choices and rights
- Use /untrack (or the prefix equivalent) to remove players you tracked.
- Remove the bot from a server to stop server-side interactions there.
- Email us to request deletion of tracked records associated with your Discord user ID.
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify you control the relevant Discord account.
9. Children
The Service is intended for users who meet Discord’s eligibility requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Riot, Discord, and hosting providers may process data in the United States or other countries. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand that information may be processed outside your home country.
11. Third-party policies
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes should be reviewed before you continue using the Service.
